The airport officials of Los Angeles had purchased some 17,750 acres of land. This piece of lot is located in Palmdale and they were thinking that they could use such for an airport. However, up until now, the airport has still yet to be constructed. And so as they say, idle land is useless land.

But now they have come up with something good for the lot. They now are thinking of building a solar farm there. They have checked with experts and it is said that the whole land could bring in 100 megawatts of power. That is surely a huge amount.

Of course, they still would have to go for an approval for this kind of project. H. David Nahai, the general manager of the LA Department of Water and Power, says that if the project pushes through, then it will be like a clean power plant for the city.
