So, once you commit to getting your kitchen remodeled, you suddenly realize that there is a lot of prep work involved. One of the biggest chores is probably sorting and packing your pantry. For this week’s Tidy Tuesday, I am involved in helping someone else do exactly that.

Tips for Cleaning Out Your Pantry

I finally had time to thoroughly clean out my pantry yesterday, and boy oh boy did it feel good. There is something very satisfying about organizing your living space, isn’t there? But cleaning out your pantry can be more than just making things look pretty. It can actually save you money. The easier things are to find, the less of a chance of buying something you already have. Walk-in Pantry

The kitchen is my haven. It’s where I spent most of my time when I’m at home. Perhaps because there’s a TV in our kitchen/dining area that I can watch my favorite shows while doing my chores in the kitchen
What would make my haven perfect is if I had a walk-in pantry like this one:

Should You Make It or Buy It?

I’ve often wondered if it would be more cost effective to make some pantry staples rather than buy them. I usually don’t give it much more thought than that because it’s usually just more convenient to spend a few more cents and not have to bother with it.
However, Slate recently researched the same idea and came back with a few pantry staples that might just be best to make yourself, and not just because it will save you money but because the quality and taste are so much better than store bought.

I love to cook so our pantry has heaps of spices and being Asian, there are a lot more exotic spices and sauces that my English Husband who grew up on a bland diet could name.
