We learned a few things from last night’s vice presidential debate: Joe Biden has some crazy nice white teeth; Paul Ryan is capable of throwing some real in-your-face zingers (not to mention he’s still sexy as hell); and both of them have credible arguments for their abortion stance. Newly-anointed Mitt Romney running-mate Paul Ryan has made his name as a fiscal conservative with a strong vision for Medicare and Social Security. But he’s no slouch in hardcore conservative social ideology, either–as folks have been quick to point out. That his social agenda is highly at odds with his Hayek-and-Rand-tinted small government outlook for money matters seems to surprise some people, but .. eh. No matter how you feel about Mitt Romney‘s choice of a running mate, Paul Ryan, and his take on the federal budget (including major cuts to Medicare and Medicaid), nobody can deny that he is one fit politician whose P90X workouts and low body fat make him one of the healthiest role models from Washington that we’ve seen yet.
