I have been wondering how it is that we can stay motivated to make stuff from what is normally considered junk?
I have come up with a list of possible reasons why those of us who create from junk continue to create with junk.
Here’s my list:

You’re naturally cheap or just can’t afford the new materials.

You just like getting messy.
You love the challenge of reusing things in ways the original maker didn’t intend.

I have come up with a list of possible reasons why those of us who create from junk continue to create with junk.

Here’s my list:

You’re naturally cheap or just can’t afford the new materials.

You get a buzz from making things, so you have to use all kinds of materials–including “junk.”

You just like getting messy.

You love the challenge of reusing things in ways the original maker didn’t intend.

You want to “save the planet.”

You enjoy cutting parts off of cute, fuzzy, stuffed duckies. (see previous post, “”)

You already go through dumpsters–you just need an excuse to appease your spouse. (If you think I’m joking…)

I’d love to see additions to my list–so let’s hear ‘em!
