I suppose Smiggle stationery has been around a lot longer than I am aware of. The local post office started to stock these cute goods a couple of years ago, but a store finally opened close by. I’ve been in there just enjoying the cute journals, notebooks, tins and other bits & pieces of stationery. I haven’t bought anything yet. I suppose one day I’ll buy stacks and surprise the girls behind the counter. Today I did buy a little black round ring, which is supposed to be a rubber or eraser for those who don’t know what I mean, [...]
Post from: Blisstree

Today I did buy a little black round ring, which is supposed to be a rubber or eraser for those who don’t know what I mean, for my little boy. See photo.

Do you have a favourite stationery supplier? Do they have an online store or do they occupy a physical place? Which do like better; touching and playing with stationery or looking at pretty pictures? Please share any comments in the section below.

I still haven’t found the perfect pencil case to solve my problem from the other day. Although, this weekend the Avon lady left me something I’ll use until I do find a pencil case I’m happy with. What’s great about this make-up bag is that when you open it you can see through the gauze-type fabric so you can locate the item you’re after quickly.

I threw in all the pens I had been keeping in the old pencil case, but left the other side for my watercolour pencils. I’ve been thinking of using my next journal as a mixed visual and hand written one. I have a lovely fat blank unlined book just perfect for that sitting here.

A few weeks ago my favourite little purple suede pencil case broke, well at least the zip did. I was still trying to use it to carry my assorted pens, pencils, sharpeners, erasers and whatevers in, but I finally gave up about a week ago. Instead I carried the current favourite pen and one other; a small red ink pen with novelty cover. Wouldn’t you know it, the pen ran out of ink. Argh! I had to use this short pen with the red ink. I was most annoyed. I felt reluctant to buy another pen because I have so [...]
Post from: Blisstree

I had to use this short pen with the red ink. I was most annoyed. I felt reluctant to buy another pen because I have so many already, but now I’m on the look out for the perfect pencil case.

The one in the photo has served me well for the last five or more years. I’d love another just like it, but the place I purchased this one from no longer has them. I can’t find any brand name or similar on the old one. It’s most likely worn off if it was there, anyway. If you know where I can find one that looks anything like this one, please let me know in the comments section below. If you sell these and you’d like to give me one, I’d love you forever and would blog about it right here. Or was that too cheeky?

What about you? What do you use to carry your stationary supplies in? I’d love to see photos, too, so don’t be shy. Post links to photos on blogs or wherever they might be. Please leave any comments and links in the section below.

Writing a journal entry may seem simple, but when beginning to keep a journal that simplicity feels confusing at times. For those who need it, follow this outline and you can’t go wrong. Keep in mind that there are no rules when it comes to writing a journal.
1. Find something to write on. Whatever you have on hand is fine. Or you might like to shop for something that makes you feel good about writing inside the pages.

2. Find something to write with. I love a pen to be smooth and flowing when I’m writing. Just make sure the implement feels comfortable in your hand. Of course, if you prefer, or need to, use a word processor, typewriter, or similar instead.

3. Find time to write. Choose a time of day when you won’t be interrupted by others. This can prove a difficult task. I tend to go out to find my moments of solace. Make a point of being alone to write in your journal.

4. Find a place to write. I enjoy sitting in a cafe with a long black coffee at my elbow. I enjoy the bustle of people around me. You may prefer the privacy of your own room. Sitting in the same place to write can help you get into the right frame of mind for journal writing.

Part two tomorrow.
