Okay, here is a little personal reflection if you will. I want some chocolate like it is going out of style. I am so darn hungry for some “junk” right now. My hubby and I are sitting here watching the first game of the NFL season and all I can think is, “chocolate cheesecake”. Thank goodness we have nothing like that in the house at the moment or I would be in trouble.

Don’t you have self control you ask? Yes, I had self control 2 days ago when everyone at work ordered treats from a local baker and gulped down sugary, sweet and yummy Starbucks beverages on the house. And I had all the control in the world last night at a training session for work when there was candy, cookies, scones, cakes and cheesecake (and y’all know what cheesecake does to me) with yummy coffee’s from that devilish Starbucks. Why can’t they just get black coffee and let us add to taste? I know, because then it wouldn’t be yummy or treat like.

Oh boy, I will fight the urge tonight. Well actually to be honest, like I said, there is nothing over the top “good” here anyway! I will go cut up a half of an apple and spread on some low carb p.b. and call it a night. But you know what? I am so going to drink a Diet Coke! That’s right, take that diabetes!!!

Here is my personal reflection, or ramblings to be totally truthful, that also serves as a gentle reminder. Get your butt up out of that chair and get moving! Over the last month or so, I haven’t been exercising as much as I usually do. We have been very busy, which I know is NOT an excuse, but that’s all I got!

So my blood sugars were so-so. Nothing to write home about, nor anything I would want to share with a a clinician, if you catch my drift. I was up in the 200’s then down in the 60’s and in need of sugar. By the way, when you are low, it really sucks!

Anyway, getting back to the whole point of my rant, I have been exercising very regularly over the last week. I have walked at least for 45 minutes every day, at least 3 miles or more at a clip, and swam every night for at least 30 minutes. And for the record, my hubby says that I am the fastest walker on this side of the Mississippi.

My blood sugars have rocked. I am in the low 100’s in the morning. I am no higher than 170’s throughout the day. Imagine that! And why did I get off track with my exercise regimen? Dunno’! And don’t I know better?

I have no good answer for you my friends, but I do know that I am going to kick my own butt into high gear. And to tell you the truth, I have so much more energy and patience. And I feel so much better mentally when I get that physical outlet.

Learn from my stupidity. Get it moving and grooving! You’ll thank yourself.

Just a little personal reflection for today. We had an easter egg hunt at the local park and there were 5000 eggs, yup that is the real amount. That is a whole heck of a lot of candy. Woo hoo!!!!

I will not check my sugar this evening, as I do not want to know the results. Now, I should state that even when I am “bad” my blood sugar [...]
Post from: Blisstree

I will not check my sugar this evening, as I do not want to know the results. Now, I should state that even when I am “bad” my blood sugar has never gone above 156. I am lucky I guess.

With easter right around the corner, I am sure there will be more than enough candy in my house. Since I have made myself sick today on that ol’ milk chocolate, I venture to say that it is out of my system.

I am going to chant, “no more chocolate” over and over again!
