Know Where Your Dog Is At All Times

When I was a kid, we had a dog that just did not like being in the backyard. No matter what methods we’d try — going out with her on a leash, attaching her to a lead, etc — she always managed to jump the fence separating the front and back yards, and we’d inevitably have a neighbor knocking on the door not too long after, dog in hand (most of the time we didn’t even know she’d gotten out!).
Had technology been anything like it is today, we could have been notified immediately as soon as she left the boundaries …read more

Bloggy Giveaway: Paw Clean Canine Footbath

Why wash the whole dog when just the paws are dirty? Think of all the water saved!
Paw Clean Canine Footbath was developed as an affordable solution for dog owners to dunk, shake and clean their pooch’s paws in water before they come into the house or car after exercise. Salts of winter, fertilizers of summer, and general filth, mud, dirt and debris that litter our sidewalks and dog parks create an unsanitary predicament for families that share their lives with dogs. No more!
The comfortable and durable neoprene gasket welcomes the dirty paw into the wet environment, where …read more
The Penthouse Potty

This “Penthouse Potty” is one of those things that you wonder how it didn’t get invented sooner. You basically put it out on your deck or patio if you live somewhere that makes it difficult to get your dog down to ground level for potty breaks.
While it makes sense I’m a little torn on it. I can understand the pain-in-the-rear aspect of having to walk your dog down a flight or several flights of stairs a few times a day for bathroom breaks, I don’t think I’d be looking forward to having to clean this thing either.

Do You Buy Holiday Gifts For Your Pets?

I admit it, I love the idea of buying things for my pets for the holidays but I don’t actually do it!
By the time I’ve bought for family and friends my poor head is drained and as cute as it would be to have the cats and dogs “unwrap” something with us on Christmas morning, it just doesn’t happen (I don’t think they mind too much anyway — isn’t that what the wrapping paper is for?).
This year I decided to put together a fun guide full of ideas for pets and their people. From treats and toys to books …read more
Review: PediPaws Pet Nail Trimmer

I got a PediPaws pet nail trimmer to review recently and after seeing the commercials a while back I was pretty excited to try it out! I really think the method is a great alternative to the standard guillotine nail clippers we use.
The PediPaw is a rotary nail grinder with a sandpaper disk enclosed within a housing that keeps the nail dust from flying everywhere. There’s a hole in the housing where you put your pet’s nail.
The instructions suggest several methods to get your pet used to the PediPaws before using it on them (it does make a whirring sound), …read more

Have you all seen these amazing houses optimized for cat living in Japan? Apparently more and more couples in Japan are living without children, and instead are giving more attention to their pets.
Truth be told I would love to be able to do something like this, and with the stuff looking contemporary and as if it fits right into the decor it would be really easy to pull off! I wonder if my husband would notice?
Would you do something like this?
