“Cricket is our ten year old cat. She is a total sweetheart but she has issues that make her avoid all contact with any human other than myself.

“She spends the vast majority of her time behind the washing machine in the bathroom, completely by choice, not because we force her to.

“She’s gotten too old to be interested in toys anymore but her favorite thing to eat is the leftover scraps in the bottom of a can of tuna. She starts purring as soon as she smells it coming.”

Pet of the Week: Cricket

Pearl is a sweet nine month old beagle. Sherry says:

“Favorite Toys: Her favorite thing to chew on is actually paper, which is annoying but as far as actual toys, she loves these plush soccer balls from the dollar store. Luckily they’re only a buck since she destroys them by the end of the day. She’s also partial to rawhide bones.

“Favorite Foods: Pearl is a total scavenger and will eat anything she can find, as though we were starving her. Her definite favorite though, is peanut butter. When she sees me stuffing her Kong full of peanut butter, she looks just like that photo up top!

“Pearl is still having trouble remembering that she’s at the bottom of the pack and is not an actual person, but she’s the most loving, kind-hearted dog I’ve ever known!”

Pet of the Week: Pearl

“I couldn’t decide on which favorite pet I would like to send you, so I am sending a collage, like I used in my own Blog. All 3 of my dogs are lovers of the – walk / hike / snowshoe / alpine ski!

They are our ‘kids’ and think they are human. If my husband needed more space on the bed or couch ‘I’ would be the one kicked off! But I can’t get mad, because I would do the same to him! – ha-ha.”

Pets of the Week: Carol’s Pups

Booboo’s owner Linda writes:

My pet is Booboo, he’s a 6 month old Yorkie and he is in his terrible twos (people years). He is very mischievous, gets into everything and he’s full of energy. He sure likes to play a lot and bugs for attention.

His favorite toy is a ball of yarn, (I think he may thinks he’s a cat). He loves his chewy bones but is not too interested in other treats other than our food. If he had a choice he would eat our food all the time.

Pet of the Week: Pete

This week we have two Pets of the Week! Jewlie and Windy belong to Heidi.

Heidi says:

These are two of my pets – Jewlie (kitty) and Windy (doggie) that I adopted when no one else wanted them. Sorry, no snakes for you to see. Just chickens, dogs and cats.

I manage an all volunteer animal shelter for handicapped and terminally ill animals. Windy has three legs and Jewlie is blind in one eye. I really enjoy the pet pix that everyone shares.

Pets of the Week: Jewlie and Windy

This week’s Pet of the Week is the adorable Miss Mocha Latte, who is owned by Holly!

Holly says:

Miss Mocha Latte is loving girl and as princess of the castle she tolerates her servants very well.

At 1 1/2 years old, she is the youngest of 5 kids. Her four siblings are 6 year old boy/girl twins, a 12 year old girl and last but not least my husband. She – of course – asserts herself as my favorite.

Her favorite activities to join are quilting, sewing and drinking coffee but is also known to jump on the keyboard during my blogging efforts. She loves to jump after my measuring tape when sewing, test the softness and quality of my quilt fabric, chase the sewing machine needle up and down and dip her face in my coffee when I least suspect it.

Mocha’s favorite food is Chicken. In fact she has been known to steal bags of deli sliced chicken out of grocery bags while Mommy is preoccupied with bringing in groceries. When not sneaking prizes out of bags, she resigns herself to Meow Mix and and even comes running when she hears the bag rattling towards her bowl.

She’s adorable, Holly!
