The site just launched on August 13, and it looks to be a fun place for dog and cat lovers. It features pet forums, as well as the ability to upload photos to be shared. Paw Print Post is moderated by pet lover Janice Lloyd, described as having the “work ethic of a Border Collie” and “gentle eyes of a Dachshund.”

Paw Print Post will also feature regular content from columnist Sharon Peters and columnist Dr. Patty Khoury of Dolittler.com.

From piano-playing cats to blind dogs with their own guide dogs, Paw Print Post seems to have plenty of interesting news to share, along with stories about diet, veterinary medicine and rescues. They also include a Petfinder.com search widget for dog and cat adoptions — just in case you’re looking for a new friend.

1. Start a “doggy jogging” club. With so many people looking for inexpensive exercising options, you’ll have more than a few joggers following your tail.
2. Add “Must Love Dogs” to your Internet dating profile.
3. Frequent your local dog park. For extra attention from fellow pet parents, dress your pooch in the oh-so-fashionable dog sweaters and booties – if nothing else, you will find out who has a sense of humor.
4. Join a local breed club and attend their events and gatherings. You may just meet that special someone who loves pit bulls or rat terriers as much as you.
5. Don’t have a cuddly puppy of your own? Foster a small dog from a local shelter or rescue group and tout him around town. (Guys, trust me, this is an instant chick magnet.)
6. Make sure you are dressed up when you go to your local vet / groomer / pet supply store.
7. Ask the attractive person next to you if they think your dog looks like Paris Hilton’s famous Tinker Bell pooch or soon-to-be First Dog.
8. Volunteer at your local shelter or rescue. You will have first dibs on the incoming singles seeking a companion.
9. Avoid a social faux pas by training your pet to not bite / pee on / eat / jump on a current love prospect.
10. Don’t worry – if you don’t have a pet, you can always adopt from Petfinder.com. Of course, cooing over someone else’s animal companion can be just as successful. You won’t even need a pick-up line!

How Your Pet Can Help You Find Love

I cannot concentrate with that picture in front of me. Is that not one of the cutest puppies you’ve ever seen?

Anyway, that comes from PetFinder.com, who has a lot of really cute pictures of some of their members’ pets posted, as well as a lot of really cute pet dress-up ideas for Halloween — most of them you don’t even need to spend money on. For example:

1. Beauty School Drop Out: Dig under your vanity for your old-school rollers and shower cap, and go to town. If you have an extra calm cat or dog, paint their nails for a special effect. You may already have a “Miss Priss” pet, and now she’ll live up to her name.

2. Leader of the Geek Squad: Do you still have your father’s old, thick glasses? Throw on a plaid bow tie, and your nerdy pet will be the life of the party. (I recommend popping the lenses out of the glasses first!)

3. Sun-Bathing Beach Bum: You may not be able to fit into that itty bitty yellow, polka dot bikini, but your puppy will! Toss on a floppy hat if she’ll wear it, and use a straw beach bag for trick-or-treating. This cute costume will definitely earn some candy.

4. John Lennon, Ringo and the Gang: If you don’t have a brown toupé in your dresser drawer, this funny outfit would be worth a few dollars. For multiple pets, what better group costume is there than the Beatles? Parade them around and they’re sure to get some groupies.

5. Fido, the Friendly Ghost: Who says the ghost costume is overdone? It’s the perfect last-minute outfit for your pet. Just a couple of holes in an old pillow case, and your pooch will be the spookiest, but friendliest, pet on the block.
