Over the weekend the sun shone for the first time in what seems like ages. My little boy and I sat outside on a blanket and played. Well, I did most of the sitting while he played. I spent some time writing in my journal as I threw a ball for him to go find in the long grass. I also took the camera and heaps of fun photos. One of the things I like most about digital cameras is the ability to take a lot of photos and not have to worry about how they turn out.

Later when I got inside and uploaded the camera I found a lot of strange shots I would usually delete and not think any more about. Instead I copied them to a new folder and later played around with them on some photo software I have on the computer. I plan to gather these photos and eventually turn them into a set of journal writing prompts. The longer they sit there the more of a surprise they’ll be to me later.

I have an idea to take my camera to places like the city, the park, the beach, etc, and shoot random photos without even looking. That will be even more surprising and make great journal writing prompts. I hope you like this idea and can use it for your own journal writing.

Today I had to see what your reaction would be to this photo:

I found it on The Parenting Weblog, but Melissa found it at Cute Overload.
I hope you can find something to write in response in your journal today. Looks like Cute Overload might be a good place for further visual prompts if you enjoy using them. Have fun with that one.
