More Fun With Teacup Pincushions

I shared a basic teacup pincushion yesterday – a perfect gift for Mother’s Day!
If you want to have a little more fun with your teacup pincushion, try some of these variations
I added some simple lace trim around the edge of the cup.  I’d recommend hand sewing it in place, using small stitches and matching thread:

I’m a sucker for buttons, so why not add some buttons to the pincushion?  You could also top it off with a yo-yo as well!

Quilters’ Passion for Pincushions

When I read about the pin cushion contest, Call for entries: Pincusions,  at Noreen’s Hankering for Yarn, my mind slipped into “memory gear” and I thought of my first pinchusion.  When my grandmother (Nanny) and I were quilting, she decided I needed a pincushion like hers.
