September 4, 2009 by Dexie Wharton

Unlike chicken, which is a very versatile white meat, pork chops can be challenging. I happen to prefer pork over chicken any day so I try to be as creative as I can. Here is a simple pork chops dish cooked in a tomato sauce with peas added into it.
INGREDIENTS:
4-5 pork chops
1 can tomato sauce
1 can water (use the tomato sauce can)
4 tbsp sugar
1 can of peas, drained
sprinkles of salt & pepper
a little bit of oil for browning
Heat the oil in a non-stick sauté pan. Brown each side of the pork chops. About 5-6 minutes each. Pour the tomato …read more

I did a dry-rub marinade on a nice cut of beef a few weeks ago and I thought some pork chops would be great too with the same kind of dry marinade. Although I changed a few of the dry ingredients this time around.

1 tbsp sage powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp Italian seasonings
1 tbsp paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
a sprinkle of red pepper flakes (optional)
Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Put the chops in a marinating container.
Sprinkle each pork chops with the dry-rub. Gently massage the run into the chops. Do this on …read more

Instead of using flour or bread crumbs as crust for pork chops or chicken, try using a Japanese bread crumbs called Panko.

Tangy Pork Chops on Rice

(This is another dish that just doesn’t take a very good picture, but it does taste amazing!)
While this isn’t a quick meal to whip up — the pork chops need to cook for about 45 minutes — it’s very easy to put together.
I usually buy a four-pack of chops, and by cutting them into strips after they’ve cooked I can fan them out over the rice and feed my family of five and usually even have some leftover for my husband to take to work.
While the chops are cooking, get some rice on to cook too and the whole …read more

(Due to the nature of the dish, it just doesn’t take a good picture. I apologize in advance.
Pork Chop Casserole is a dish from my husband’s childhood that he requested I try to recreate. I’d never had it and only had a few basic ingredients and instructions to go by: thinly sliced potatoes, cream of mushroom soup and pork chops.
It didn’t sound terribly appealing to me at first but I did a little research online and managed to throw something together.

8 thin-cut boneless pork chops
Salt and pepper
4 potatoes, thinly sliced
2 cans cream of mushroom …read more
