Before You Choose a Water Dog

Sure, Portuguese water dogs are cute. And very popular because the Obamas chose Bo. But is it really the right dog for you?
A recent CNN article, Water dogs should come with warnings, explores the breed and cautions pet lovers to do their homework before choosing this dog. It’s an active dog that needs to be with people.
According to the American Kennel Club, the breed requires “daily vigorous exercise.” In other words, if you work 60 hours a week, your Portuguese water dog may decide to get destructive for lack of activity.

Bo Obama’s First Day

Bo, the Obama family’s new dog, made his national debut yesterday on the lawn of the White House.
The six-month old puppy was quite excited, bounding across the grass at the end of a leash held by oldest daughter Malia. President Obama is asked by one reporter “Can you believe the coverage this is getting?” to which Obama replied, “It’s spectacular!” He’s also asked where Bo will be sleeping and the President says he has a bunch of spots inside the White House, though one of them isn’t his bed!
