Thanksgiving Activities for Children
Thanksgiving is only a week away in our house, as there is no school three days prior to the actual day. So, we celebrate with doctor appointments, teacher conferences, and cleaning the house. This year, however, we will also be packing and preparing for a wonderful trip to Guatemala to adopt our second son. We are truly and wonderfully thankful for that experience, for him, his birth family, and his foster family.

October is Spider Month!
I was never a spider lover myself but for some reason little boys live spider webs and they certainly love spiders. In fact, Google has even named their search engines after spiders because of the creepy crawly legs that reach out to all parts of the Internet.
But, when did we, as children, start learning spider tales? Well, there are the pre-school versions of the Itsy Bitsy Spider, There was an old lady…, etc.

It is scorching hot here today. I confess that I’m not much of an outdoors person, especially when it is blazing hot outside. As Mary Emma mentioned, Char and Christine are hosting Camp Weary Parent. Their goal is to provide summer activities for children to keep the parents and kids sane during the summer. Since I’m not much of an outdoors person, I decided to give you all a fun indoor activity.
