As I gear up for tonight’s episode of Prison Break, now seems as good a time as any to nod in the direction of the research I kept bumping into this weekend regarding happy people vs. unhappy people when it comes to watching television.
The article I read all the way through was Science Daily’s Watching Television, Channeling Unhappiness?, which discusses researchers from the University of Maryland and the studies they conducted for over 30 years. What’s this? Saturday Sanity is on time this week? Do tell!
This week at Mental Health Notes, things were pretty busy. In addition to Kristina’s Newsweek interview about John McCain’s talk of autism, I told you about a few mental health campaigns and communities like Howie Mandel’s Adult ADHD Is Real, Canada’s Let’s Face This, and icyou’s mental health videos and vlogs. I also told you about a new study regarding memory side effects of using ecstasy just once, and dove into the brains of sociopaths (well, kind of) with posts about Private Practice and resources to learn more about sociopathy.

I am like, the biggest Addison Forbes Montgomery/Kate Walsh fan around. So, naturally, when Addison/Kate left Seattle Grace to join her best friend’s private practice in Los Angeles, I packed my bags, too.
Well, not literally. Not really even figuratively, because hey – who can really leave Mark Sloan?
My point is, I watch Private Practice. I’m not a huge fan; I tough it out because of Addison/Kate, and I won’t be surprised when if Shonda ultimately has Addison rush up to Seattle for one of those once-in-a-lifetime-surgeries-that-no-other-doctor-in-the-world-other-than-Addison-is-qualified-to-do, and then has her stay, but until then, I continue …read more
