I’ve been following my own advice . I’ve been making smarter choices for lunch. Yesterday, I topped my spinach salad with a Chicken of the Sea Salmon cup. I love Salmon and while looking at tuna in the store, I saw the salmon and thought hmm, that looks intriguing. Plus, it was on sale at Raleys.
The salmon cups are 80 calories a piece and each contains 14 grams of protein with only 2 grams of fat (1 gram saturated). A single-serving contains 350 mg of Omega-3 EPA and DHA combined, which means it contains 218% of the daily requirement.

Last year I tried out the HGTV Home & Landscape Platinum Suite and it’s super handy if you’re designing a home and even handier if you’re designing landscaping. In fact, I liked the landscaping part of the program better than the architect features (and I’m an architect freak). In any case, I thought I’d mention this software because if you’re planning a large or new landscaping project, this software could really help you out.
Below is a shot of one of the first houses I messed around with on the program. FYI after practice you get better and can make more …read more

I recently had the opportunity to taste test Stone Ridge Creamery Frozen Yogurt. I tried out 4 different flavors, I got to try their vanilla, peach, strawberry, and pomegranate-blueberry. I’ve enjoyed them all several times now for my mid afternoon snack.
There have been some fabulous peaches at a small farm stand not too far from us, so I’ve been buying a fresh batch every few days. I decided to try them with a little of the frozen yogurt. The combination was yummy!
So what was my favorite flavor? I think I like the vanilla the best, but the peach frozen yogurt …read more
Pete’s Soyganic Smoked Tofu – A Review

Sarah and I tried Pete’s Soyganic Smoked Tofu today.
I found it in the refrigerated part of the vegetable section at the grocery store – next to the regular tofu. This was the first prepared smoked tofu product that I’ve tried, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. Usually I think, hhmm, no, too pricey, but Pete’s was on sale so I grabbed it.
Pete’s smoked tofu has a firm texture and a good flavor. I liked it, but Sarah did not. She kept trying to get me to eat hers. She said, “I’m not sure, but I don’t think …read more

Over the last two weeks, we’ve intermittently been looking at HGTV Home & Landscape Platinum Suite software. I’ve discussed…
All the basics of this home software.
Exterior features, such as building a home and landscaping.
Interior design and remodeling features.
Software pros:
Amazingly in-depth feature rich software. Everything you need to design and decorate almost any sort of home (minus green – see below).
Pretty easy to use. There’s a learning curve, but nothing I think anyone will have any trouble with. Plus there’s a massive 700 page user manual included, plus online help, plus a help guide in the software itself. You can use …read more

Ok, I’ve finally got the interior HGTV software feature review ready for you – it took a while, because the interior stuff was tricky for me to figure out.
First of all, in case you missed it, we’ve been looking at this cool HGTV Home & Landscape Platinum Suite software. Besides a basic look, I also showed you how you can design your own home. Home Handy Software Review: HGTV Home & Landscape Platinum Suite

I received a review copy of HGTV Home & Landscape Platinum Suite a while back. Due to flu and storm power outage issues, it’s taken me a while to get around to posting what I think. The good news is that since I was housebound over the last week or so due to snow, I’ve had plenty of time to get the software up and running.
First of all, this is pretty hefty software; it’s jam packed with loads of handy home makeover features – WAY too many for one post. In this post I’ll list some of the overall features, …read more
