Many of you probably have been involved in quilt block swaps with quilting friends who gather in your neighborhood or ones you know online or through the mail. Trading blocks on various themes can be a great deal of fun.
My daughter does many of these, both with her local fiber arts group and online groups. The suggestions for many of these blocks call upon a great deal of creativity and venturing into new directions.

Idea for a Quick Scenic Quilt

As I browsed the newsletter from Snowy River Quilts, I found a really fun idea for a colorful quilt that you can make quickly. The specific directions weren’t there, but from the picture, you can use your imagination.
By using scenic fabrics, you can combine them to create a 3 x 3 block quilt. These patterns they suggested consisted of sky and mountain pictures, as well as those with details of trees and bears, and a river or lake with fish.
