		<description><![CDATA[In the post, Quilts for a Gallery Showing, I described how my daughter and her Fiber Diva friends were setting up a display of their quilts and fiber art at the Gilford (NH) Public Library.  She received word today that the showing was so well received the local newspaper wanted to interview members of the group and do a story. 
You never know where displays and festivals will lead.  You never know who will see your work and want to contact you.  You never know what sales will result.

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In the post, <a title="Quilts for a Gallery Showing" href="http://www.blisstree.com/articles/quilts-for-a-gallery-showing/">Quilts for a Gallery Showing</a>, I described how my daughter and her Fiber Diva friends were setting up a display of their quilts and fiber art at the Gilford (NH) Public Library.  She received word today that the showing was so well received the local newspaper wanted to interview members of the group and do a story. </p>
<p><strong>You never know where displays and festivals will lead.</strong>  You never know who will see your work and want to contact you.  You never know what sales will result.</p>

<p>So don&#8217;t be reluctant to display your work and get it into shows.  By working with a group, none of the Fiber Divas had to do the entire show on their own&#8230;set up, grand opening (whenever there is one), meeting the public.  However, their collective endeavors have begun to be recognized.  From there each can branch out on her own, if desired.  They already have another local display planned for January.  Also, they&#8217;ve been asked to extend the display at the library another month!</p>

Quilter and blogger, Jean Murray, visited the International Quilt Festival/Chicago and was in awe of the numbers of quilters, displays, and quilting supply booths.  She reports about this adventure, Baby Boomer Women are HOT for Quilting!, at her b5media blog, Small Business Boomers, she co-authors with Jim Gordon. 
Unbelievable. The traffic getting there was backed up for miles, with many buses from all over the Midwest, and groups of women in cars, Jean said.
Jean continues, Anyone who says quilting isn&#8217;t a huge industry (and I do mean &#8220;industry&#8221;) needs to see one of these quilt shows.
