We are going to the Imagination Movers concert this weekend. The very second we heard that the guys were coming to Birmingham, we cued up at the Web site to buy tickets. I haven’t been so excited about going to a concert since camping out for Adam Ant. (Did I actually just admit to that?) Love those Movers. Gwyneth Paltrow under fire for using stroller

I read an opinion piece today where a blogger ripped Gwyneth Paltrow apart for putting her daughter Apple in a stroller. For clarity, Apple is five years old. The blogger chastises Gwyneth for being a lazy mother and choosing to use a stroller instead of having to deal with basic parenting, like holding your child’s hand and monitoring their behavior in public. Snowbank rant

Can I rant for a second? And no, not about my kids. Rather about my city and their complete lack of decency and common sense.
On Friday it started snowing about 10 am. It came down for several hours, and not that dreamy white fluff that you see on Christmas commercials – the thick, heavy, wet snow. By about 3 pm it switched to ice pellets, and that continued until about 11 pm. From there it snowed again until the early morning. Okay, I know what you’re thinking, but no, I’m not about to diss fathers. In fact, it’s less about dads and more about perceptions of them. These are a few things that I hate about the way some of society views dads.
1. Dads are inept. How many commercials or movies or TV plots revolve around a father who is just completely stupid when it comes to kids?
