Thanks Hal, I needed to be reminded how we can become so inane. I mean, us alkies will stoop to whatever depths we need to to justify our drinking!

Offering up a perfect example of old thinking, having quite obviously spent some time with the itty bitty sh**ty committee, Hal was kind enough to drop this inane comment here yesterday. He got caught in moderation (that’s a blog term Hal). I’ll take a screen shot of it because I don’t want to use up valuable space at A Dozen Steps. Here it is, in reference to this post last year: “A Glimpse Into An Alcoholic Mind”

“Mark said, ‘It wants us dead.’ If we’re dead, the alcoholic mind won’t have access to alcohol. Can the alcoholic mind commit suicide?”

Maybe you might give my friend Alicia a visit Hal. Hop over to “Keep Your Brains Busy This March” and see what she has to say because, imho, you seem to have a need to get grounded a bit more than you are.

At any rate, that remark shows either a total lack of knowledge about alcoholism or complete disdain towards recovery or an extreme effort to justify drinking, one or the other. If you’re going to meetings – please keep going. If you’re not going to meetings you might give that serious consideration. If, by an exceptionally small chance, you’re not a member of AA and think you’re having a bit of fun at our expense, remember, those that judge don’t matter and those that matter don’t judge. You don’t matter.
