Tonight while reading the follow up blog entry to this, I came across an entry linked to it; here. All three entries and comments are worth reading for the great reasons to keep a journal.
I suggest using the question Why Keep a Journal? as a journal writing prompt and see where it takes you. I think you might learn something about yourself just by writing your reasons down.
If you like, share your responses in the comments section below. I’d love to read why you journal.

I know I promised I’d write an entry with my reason for journal writing, but yesterday was one of those days. I had to write a simple entry instead. So here, as promised, is my response to Monday’s entry.
I write in my journal because the very action of putting words on paper releases stress, helps order my thoughts, acts as a sounding board, is enjoyable, helps me in expressing myself, motivates me to write clearly, inspires and encourages creativity, excites me about self development, gives me some me time, allows me to play with language, gives me room to [...]
Post from: Blisstree

I know I promised I’d write an entry with my reason for journal writing, but yesterday was one of those days. I had to write a simple entry instead. So here, as promised, is my response to Monday’s entry.

I write in my journal because the very action of putting words on paper releases stress, helps order my thoughts, acts as a sounding board, is enjoyable, helps me in expressing myself, motivates me to write clearly, inspires and encourages creativity, excites me about self development, gives me some me time, allows me to play with language, gives me room to develop ideas, gives me a place to rant and rave, allows me to be boring when I need to, is a place to share my secrets, is a friend who never butts in with their opinion, lets me be myself, and probably many more reasons.

I could probably return to this every day and write different reasons. What about you? Why do you journal? Please share in the comments section below.
