Think you’re practicing safe birth control by taking your birth control pills every morning? You may not be. Sandoz, a subsidiary of pharmaceutical company Novartis, is recalling a bunch of their birth control pills, because, oops, they placed the placebo pills in the wrong slots. Oh Great, Now Baby Spinach Can Contaminate Us With Salmonella

Check your refrigerator–if you have baby spinach in there, beware. Earlier this week, there was a massive recall on salad over a potential Listeria outbreak, now the FDA just issued another recall due to concerns that baby spinach (organic ones, no less) could be contaminated with salmonella–that nasty bacteria that can cause all sorts of stomach upset, diarrhea, cramps, fever and an extreme case of the yucks.

No Whey: Champion Nutrition Chocolate Peanut Butter Pure Whey Protein is being recalled because peanuts aren’t adequately declared as an ingredient on the label. Luckily, most people assume that a product with the word “peanut” in the title probably contains peanuts, so there have been no reports of allergic reactions yet. (via Chicago Tribune)

Kellogg’s Recalls Cereal: Boxes of Corn Pops, Honey Smacks, Froot Loops, and Apple Jacks are being recalled due to a strange taste and smell coming from the boxes’ liners that is making customers sick. (via NPR)
