Put Newspaper to Use in Kitchen

When I was a houseguest at a charming old Southern home of an old friend recently, I noticed an easy cleanup idea in action.
The cook had covered his kitchen island with newspaper, supplied by his sister who subscribes. As he prepared dinner, he left the unwanted items (veggie stems, egg shells, etc.) on the paper. I didn’t notice this until the very end when he wadded up the paper with the mess inside. Easy! Plus, it’s quicker with fewer trips to the trash.

Introducing the Newspaper Bench

Meet the free newspaper bench. Designer Oscar Lhermitte used three metal bars and 334 free newspapers, folded and stacked. Not only does this project reuse newspapers, but it is made without the use of screws, glue or soldering. And the bench can support up to five people.
