The cook had covered his kitchen island with newspaper, supplied by his sister who subscribes. As he prepared dinner, he left the unwanted items (veggie stems, egg shells, etc.) on the paper.
The cook had covered his kitchen island with newspaper, supplied by his sister who subscribes. As he prepared dinner, he left the unwanted items (veggie stems, egg shells, etc.) on the paper. I didn’t notice this until the very end when he wadded up the paper with the mess inside. Easy! Plus, it’s quicker with fewer trips to the trash.

I don’t personally recommend using newspaper as a direct food contact surface, but it can be a useful tool for avoiding a messy prep area. Even if you compost some food ideas, this method can help keep your counters clean during food prep.

How do you reuse newspapers in your home?

334 by Oscar Lhermitte
Meet the free newspaper bench. Designer Oscar Lhermitte used three metal bars and 334 free newspapers, folded and stacked. Not only does this project reuse newspapers, but it is made without the use of screws, glue or soldering. And the bench can support up to five people.
Lovely!
