I was recently sent some Goochii Poochii pet shampoo and conditioner to try out on my dogs.

Goochii Poochii is a line of natural bath and body products for pets that was launched in 2008. The line is formulated with the finest natural and pet-friendly ingredients.

They create rich shine, a luxurious coat, eliminate odor and hot spots as well as retract ticks and fleas. The formula in non-toxic, biodegradable and safe enough to eat (but doesn’t taste good!).

The shampoo did lather up pretty well and got the dogs clean. I’ve never used a conditioner on either of them because they’re both short haired, but I tried the Goochii Poochii conditioner and it did make their coats that much smoother.

The scent was a little too flowery for me, but I was pleased to find that it didn’t linger after the bath was over. I’m not a big fan of scents on dogs (powders, shampoos, etc) because it just gets mixed in with stinky dog after a bit.

Overall it’s a great shampoo and conditioner for your dogs!

Review: Crazy Cat’s Cat Quest

I was recently sent a toy to review for my cats, which I always love doing because who doesn’t love messing with their cats?

This one is especially fun and is one of my favorite kinds: something hanging off a stick! My cats also love these and will go on forever trying to get whatever’s flying around in front of them, and the Cat Quest from Crazy Cat is no exception. The battery-operated bug is attached to a plastic stick (that breaks apart for easy storing), and flutters its little wings whenever you push the button on the handle.

Turbo took to it immediately, while the other two sped out of the room as fast as they could (they’re under the bed if they even suspect a visitor is coming over, so this isn’t very surprising).

They warmed up to it eventually and will watch Turbo play, but if you try to get them in on the action they look at you like you’re nuts. Oh well. Turbo’s the overgrown kitten in the family and we knew if anyone went crazy for it, it would be him.

And we were right!

The Crazy Cat Cat Quest retails for $9.99 to $11.99 at leading pet retailers, and if you’ve got a crazy cat you won’t be disappointed!

World’s Worst Boss

Picture 13.pngAlthough I’ve had my own business for a little over a year, there are many lessons, experiences and memories from corporate life that I keep with me. Some of these details are inspiring, as they help me with the daily management of the-petset.com and some other references, make me shudder.

Like the day my boss through me into a lake. Let me elaborate:

Several years ago, I worked at a large international, luxury auto maker in New Jersey. Needless to say, the men:women ratio was enourmously unbalanced, in favor of men. You can imagine the fashion environment in a car company — yep, tons ‘o logo-ed polo shirts. And the politics and bad sexually explicit jokes, were horrendous.

As I reflect on this bit of history, my boss was a remarkably similar to Michael on The Office. He was a people-pleaser, a manipulator (I suspect a misogynist), a self-described “god’s gift to women” and mostly stupid.

This guy’s attempt a bonding with his group was an annual trip to a local lake, complete with beer and boats…and of course a token baseball cap with the company’s logo. BTW, the guys in our department routinely bonded at least twice a week at a local pub — but on these trips “the girls” got to go.
