We’ve talked about the health benefits of Zipcar before, and now they’re sweetening the deal in Oregon with free passes to nature areas in the state. Zipcar recently outfitted 40 Portland Oregon vehicles with federal Northwest Forest Passes and / or Oregon State Park Passes.

This is a cool deal if you already use Zipcar, and if not this is a great time to get on board with Zipcar. This is also perfect for travelers coming to the Portland area; you avoid having to rent a car for your vacation AND you’ll save money on park passes.

Most eco-minded individuals have heard of car sharing and how it’s a healthy choice for the environment, and now there’s news that car sharing may be far healthier for human bodies too, not just the earth. Zipcar launched their 2009 Low-Car Diet this summer in which more than 250 people in cities in the U.S., Canada and London, gave up their personally owned car for one month, choosing instead to walk, bike, take public transit or Zipcar as necessary. I can’t say I am a huge Dave Matthews fan, but Alicia from Mental Health Notes is and I have her to thank for this green piece of info:
Her favorite band is partnering with PickupPal to help fans find and share rides to and from all of their concerts for this summer’s tour. How cool is that?
