Sandwiches are one of my favorite food groups! Ok I know, I can’t really categorize a sandwich as a food group, however a good sandwich will have something from each food group inside! You have your bread, protein, cheese as your dairy and vegetables! In this particular sandwich I use Pita bread as my bread, turkey as my protein, and provolone as my cheese! Vegetables are up to you but this sandwich tastes delicious with just simple lettuce and tomato.

Fluffernutter Sandwiches

It’s probably a safe bet that many who grew up in the United States have, at one point or another, had a fluffernutter sandwich. The super sweet, sticky sandwiches are a really simple combination of bread, marshmallow creme and peanut butter.
They can be “dressed up” with more add-ins, such as sliced bananas, thinly sliced apples, and even jelly. Simply spread the marshmallow creme (or Fluff, as it’s more commonly known as) on one slice of bread, some peanut butter on the other, stick them together, and voila — instant childhood!

Turkey Relish Avocado & Cheese Sandwich

For lunch the other day, my husband came home with 2 packs of turkey sandwiches from an Italian place called Gandolfini’s. When he said turkey I immediately scrunched up my nose because I am not that fond of turkey meat at all. I’ll eat it for Thanksgiving but other than that I usually go for ham or salami when it comes to deli meat.
However, after a few bites of this humongous sandwich, I must give props to it because it was really good. I think all the other fillings blended well with the turkey meat.

Who Wants to Wash Dishes Anyway
I can remember having so much on my plate (no pun intended) when Jamie and Britt were young and the last thing that I wanted to do was wash dishes. So, one day for lunch, I filled ice cream cones with potato salad and placed it on their plate along with a sandwich and some carrot sticks. (So that’s where Britt gets it from!!)
