“Mom, you’ve got to stop using paper plates,” the youngster told his mom. “You’re wasting trees and causing trash.”
“He’s really learning about ‘going green’ from school,” the mom remarked. “They’ve got a big program about saving the environment.”
Many schools are emphasizing the “green” theme, including those where I do substitute teaching. Youngsters are informing their parents and looking for ways to be green at home.

Travel “Green” on Your Family Jaunts

As we travel “around the world” this week, in keeping with the theme at One Book Two Book, we may want to look at “traveling green.” You may be traveling vicarously, planning future travel, or actually traveling.
However, consider:
“Going green,” ” traveling green,” wearing “green”, in fact, anything “green” that helps save the environment has become a very popular word. We teach our children to be conscious of the environment.
