Kids will want those trendy bracelets, hats, skirts, “the look”, etc. For those that have no clue what the kids are wearing this year, here is a sneak peek. Good luck!

IMG: Sxc.hu

Varsity Sport Trends
The Varsity sports trends are very popular and it doesn’t matter if it is in High School or Kindergarten, this is the one style that never seems to fade away. Little girls will look absolutely adorable in saddle shoes, yes they are back again, and plaid skirt but so will the teen. Boys will love wearing their favorite sports team shirts and they can top this off with jeans and a letterman’s jacket or something that looks like it. Caps definitely polish this look off, but you might want to remind them that caps go off indoors. Of course if you don’t remind them, I’m sure a teacher will happily do it.

The Biker Look
Oh yes, you know the whole leather jacket and wear nothing but black look. This has always been around and will continue to be around as long as their are black clothes out there. I also call this the “punk look” you remember how Punky Brewster loved the mismatched look, or even think of Cyndi Lauper. Girls can now wear tights that are black and white striped or whatever color they want under a plaid colored skirt and a white t-shirt. She can top it off with her black combat boots and jacket. Guys wear almost all black, but can pass the look off with a white t-shirt and of course the silver chain hanging from the pant pocket.

Good boy/girl look
The “presidential look” which to me looks more like the “good girl/good boy” look. The girl wears her white tights and a cute floral dress that is topped off by an adorable pink sweater jacket and sandals. The boys wear button up shirts that is untucked, black or tan slacks and blazer. Oh and never forget the tie.

There are a ton trends that weren’t covered here, head on over to CBS’s School trends and see what the kids are wearing these days.

It was divine. Just what I needed.
Driving up I remembered that I had forgotten to pack any underwear. So, I chuckled at my tendency to multi-task and forget this or that and used it as a great excuse to buy some new ones at Target about half way there. I also bought Pink’s new CD as kind of a treat.

Femimommy here left the children at home with daddy.

When I pulled up to her condo I realized my suitcase was not in my van. No where to be found. I blamed my husband for taking it out of the van to rearrange for the wheelchair I was picking up. But, he said he found it by the front door. It’s probably bad that I was super-disappointed that it wasn’t his fault.

The Blogger has no clothes.

Not an ounce of pretension could be mustered up from my clothes all weekend.

The biggest guest faux paux of all time.

I had no make-up, no Chantix for the smoking, no clothing. No shoes, no work-out clothes. No toothbrush. No hair brush or comb. No moisturizer or zit stick or sunscreen. As a guest, don’t you think it’s a little rude to show up with NOTHING?

Rebecca was incredibly gracious, lending me whatever would fit. She’s a few sizes smaller than I, and a total fitness buff, so adjustable clothing and stretchy tank tops saved the day. In the end it turns out that having no stuff to flounce yourself up isn’t that big of a deal. I was just fine and had a great time.

You are not your clothes. Wasn’t I saying something like that earlier in the week? Oh, that’s right when I was talking about school clothes for girls on So Sioux Me earlier in the week. Was this the universe or God trying to make damn sure I meant it?

I realized my daughter is starting Kindergarten in September and there will be this mad rush for school clothes.
I can’t really understand why kids need a whole new wardrobe for school. I mean, kids get clothes all year long these days right? It’s not like in my Grandma’s day when she saved up enough to buy her children two pairs of shoes a year, for school and Easter Sunday.
I went garage sailing and picked up about all she’ll need for about $12. I’m not about to blow a couple of hundred dollars for this consumerist tradition. I picked up a [...]
Post from: Blisstree

I can’t really understand why kids need a whole new wardrobe for school. I mean, kids get clothes all year long these days right? It’s not like in my Grandma’s day when she saved up enough to buy her children two pairs of shoes a year, for school and Easter Sunday.

I went garage sailing and picked up about all she’ll need for about $12. I’m not about to blow a couple of hundred dollars for this consumerist tradition. I picked up a black pair and brown pair of nearly-new Mary Janes and some super cute Sketchers for $2.50. The rest was spent on new-looking matching outfits, dresses, tops and jeans in her size.

If I have the cash on hand I may take her to Old Navy and let her pick one outfit for the first day.

To read about how I really did take all her clothes away after repeated clothing tanatrums and fits of hysteria, you can check out Kindergarten Fashion Show on Sioux So Me. Yes, I did. It worked, and I’ll do it again if she loses her grip on reality about how important her clothes are. I got the advice from Madonna of all places.
