Ok, ok. I am officially under the “series bug” syndrome. I have been for 3 days in a row now, sending your way wreath ideas. I swear the wreaths did it for me. I was too inspired to share my discoveries with you, as well as itching to make one for myself and my family, too. I am even contemplating on making some for friends to give away as gifts. Why for? No particular reason. I just want to share the L-O-V-E.
If you have a lot of paper scraps, then look no further. Here’s an idea that is made from tons of it!

Scrapbooking a Business Portfolio
October 18, 2009 by Mary Emma Allen

Generally we think of making scrapbooks to hold family memories and photos.
However, they can be utilized for business portfolios. Also, you can assemble these “portfolios” online, or scan into your computer, for viewing online (at your blog or web site) by potential customers.
I used a photograph album type of scrapbook when I had a quiltmaking/patchwork business. In it I placed photos and descriptions of items I had for sale or could make on order. I also included a history of my quiltmaking, with photos of craft shows and displays.
Currently I’m compiling a Party Planning scrapbook portfolio for my virtual party …read more

How do you see yourself starting a small business? Why not begin earning extra moolah out of something you truly love doing? Play becomes work, and work becomes play. You can’t ask for more.
I have tried running a small business of doing handmade cards. And the experience is quite amazing. I get to do the one thing I love most which is crafting, and I also get to share my artistic outputs for others to enjoy and appreciate. I find it really easy to manage, since I only have myself as my “own boss” and “lone employee”. But as soon …read more
Fall Themed Scrap Poetry Book
September 5, 2009 by Mary Emma Allen

For a class I taught combining writing and scrapbooking, I created a small scrapbook using my fall photos, taken over the years. I’d also written several fall themed poems and selected the one about “Jack Frost,” an imaginary fall and winter visitor of my childhood.
The 5 x 7-inch scrapbook album was ideal for my photos. I used scrapbooking stickers, papers, and stamps to decorate the pages. These were arranged around the words of the poem throughout the book.
I also scanned several of the pages to show writers they (or a printer) could reproduce this album as a book they might …read more

Do you wait until the end of summer to get all your pictures developed? If you do, you could be about to take advantage of a pretty sweet sale. I like to wait until I have a bunch of photos that I’m ready to scrapbook with, and then develop them all at once. I try and do a couple pages at once that way.
If you’re like me, you should know that Walgreens is having another fabulous photo sale, with 75 prints for just $9.99. The prints are 4×6 each – the perfect size for scrapbooking or …read more

Innovative Scrapbook Product: Pioneer Scrapbook Binding System – Snap Load
August 28, 2008 by Christine Gooding

The Pioneer Scrapbook Binding System is a cool product. It doesn’t look much but based on the reviews I read in Scrapbook.com, I think it’s a must have rather than a ‘nice to have’. I have post-bound scrapbooks and they can be a pain sometimes if my layouts are bulky because of the embellishments.
Here’s an example of a customer raving about this product:
These little peices of plastic are absolutely the best! No more messing with screwdrivers and adding extension posts with the Snap Load bindings. Once you replace your posts with this product, your pages will lay better, turn better …read more
