“Cane-Fu Fighting” for Parents’ Safety

“There’s a new style of martial arts training sweeping the nation amongst older adults called ‘Cane-Fu Fighting’, “ says Derrick at Elder-Guru.
If you’re concerned about your elderly parents, physically challenged parents, or those who may be targets for attacks, robberies, and physical abuse, check out the possibility of them taking a cane-fu fighting class. (You may want to take it along with them!)
This is physical defense using a cane. The cane-fu classes also are good sources of exercise and many senior centers are offering them.

You should never hit anyone. Don’t kick. Play nicely. Screw that. It may come as a surprise to you but recently I’ve unearthed this latent desire to seriosuly kick someone ass! Okay, it’s probably no surprise.I’m taking a kickboxing class at my gym and I’m loving it.Has it occurred to anyone else how ludicrous it is that women are most likely to be attacked and least likely to learn how to fight? Fake Rape Email

Last week I published a rape prevention tips email here on Blog Fabulous. I’ve since taken it down as it was discredited bysnopes.com .
Only seconds after I took it down I got an email from a reader asking me where it was. She said it had reminded her to turn off the usual rambling of her brain and be aware of her surroundings. She had found herself in a precarious situation that she probably wouldn’t have thought about had she not just read the rape prevention tips I posted.
For that I am glad that it had that effect.
