Running To Remember 9/11: The Emotional Stories And Races To Honor The Victims

As the 10th anniversary of September 11 approaches on Sunday, some people are choosing to remember the victims and their surviving family members through running. There are a myriad of local 5K races taking place, like the Tunnel to Towers run, which began in honor of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter who ran from his fire station to the World Trade Centers during the attacks and ended up losing his life that day. Siller’s brothers started running the same route to honor his memory and that has turned into an annual citywide fundraiser that supports the Stephen Siller Foundation.
