When your patience is being tested at home, there’s a prayer that has helped a friend of mine become calmer. She usually prays it when a sibling is being impossible, or when she needs guidance in making a decision. It’s called “The Serenity Prayer.”
“God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.”
It’s a great way to claim your calm. The household can get quite unnerving sometimes, and one needs to set some quiet time to meditate to rid oneself of negative vibes and to just refocus. …read more

A No-Coincidence Moment…

The Serenity Prayer
GOD, grant me the serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change,
Courage to change the
things I can, and the
wisdom to know the difference.
Living ONE DAY AT A TIME;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardship as the
pathway to peace.
Taking, as He did, this
sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it.
Trusting that He will make
all things right if I
surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy
in this life, and supremely
happy with Him forever in
the next. Amen
Just mho, it never gets old and the repetition can’t hurt…

Most of us will meet up with some degree of worldly success, and here the problem of the right kind of acceptance will be really difficult. Then there will be illness and death. How indeed shall we be able to accept all these?”
For me, through the Twelve Steps and from …read more
