So, I don’t know if it’s because I have some kind of sixth sense or what, but I started thinking, It’s about time for another edition of What Do You Really Want?

I looked at the first What Do You Really Want? and saw that I posted it on April 26.

So, really, I must have some kind of sixth sense, right? To have thought it was time for another What Do You Really Want? on the same day of the month as the last one?? Right?

Yeah, alright, it was a complete coincidence. Let’s get to what you all want.

5 MHN Search Phrases I Can’t Really Help You With

1. “take kids to see dave matthews band” – Ah, Dave Matthews and Company. What joys you’ve brought my soul. What difficult times you’ve helped me overcome. A search of this phrase brought no results; however, that doesn’t mean I don’t express my love for you here at Mental Health Notes. A search of “Dave Matthews” presents six results. None of them offer any information about taking kids to see you in concert, though. So, to all looking for information about Dave in concert, I recommend perusing through the b5media Music Channel.
2. “hot sexy pics of dale earnhart jr” – Another phrase that brought no results; however, I’m not surprised one of you Mental Health Notes readers would be searching for hot sexy pics of Dale Earnhart, Jr. After all, Dale Jr. is indeed a hot and sexy man and within the top five for me (Wenti, of course, leads that list), even if I’ve only mentioned him once. Alas, for more Dale Earnhart, Jr. news, you’ll have to visit Tim over at Do You NASCAR?
3. “r.e.m.song hurt” – Another great band, and another search with no results at Mental Health Notes. SongMeanings.net provides the lyrics and discussion about the song; try the b5media Music Channel for further information.
4. “being late for work a lot” – Being late for work a lot undoubtedly sucks, and is something I don’t have to worry about as I work from home. This is probably one reason why I’ve never written anything meaningful about it (even though a search of the phrase here at Mental Health Notes brings several results). For work-related matters, you may have better luck at b5media’s Business Channel.
5. “google sexy women” – Ah! While this particular phrase brought no results at Mental Health Notes, I did actually blog about sexy women here a couple of times. During April’s theme day here at the Health & Wellness Channel, I offered cancer-related resources and one of them pertained to women’s sexuality. A few days after that, I shared a study regarding sexy women and their effect on our brains and the economy. Aside from that, however, try checking out b5media’s Beauty & Style, Celebrities, and Entertainment channels for all your sexy women googling needs.

Mental Health Notes Asks: What Do You Really Want? May Edition

I talked about a lot of stuff this week here at Mental Health Notes. Not only did I get to brag about my fantasy boyfriend and how awesome his fans are, but I also announced a contest/giveaway in honor of both Mental Health Awareness Month and Mental Health Notes’s own first birthday! Chato B. Stewart officially kicked-off the This Is Why I ROCK! series, and I took part in the Healthbolt Challenge. I also mused on House, sexy women, and bile in our bodies. And of course I offered my own thoughts on current events, including the Austrian Fritzl family and the recent suicide of Deborah Jeane Palfrey.

The world of scientific-, research-, and government-related mental health news hasn’t been so quiet, either. The Royal College of Psychiatrists is aiming to redefine “informed consent” when it comes to abortions by updating materials with information about the mental health risks of abortion, among other things. Christopher Hitchens points out that anger is “the innuendo for instability or inadequacy” in yet another discussion about Senator John McCain’s ability to run the country. You’ll find some of the highest rent in the nation in Stamford, Connecticut, so the Family Centers Housing Resource Program is helping folks with mental illness by providing subsidies, security deposit loans, and donated furniture. And, the American Heart Association is now recommending that children with ADHD undergo electrocardiograms before they’re prescribed ADHD medication.

Various mental health advocacy groups are quiet chatty lately. Mental Health America is promoting the Mental Health Awareness Month theme of Get Connected, as well as has recently released survey results that show health care obstacles for people with schizophrenia. The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance is conducting a survey to find out which mood disorders research interests you most and the National Alliance on Mental Illness has released an informational self-help brochure for women with depression.

And of course, my fellow b5media Health & Wellness Channel bloggers are never very quiet, are they? Saturday Sanity: Keeps The Doctor Away

Haha, not really. Well…at least, I don’t think so?

According to research conducted and led by Northwestern University finance professor Camelia Kuhnen and Stanford psychologist Brian Knutson, sex and money trigger the same area of our brains – the V-shaped nucleus accumbens, or, our brains’ pleasure center.

During the research, which involved 15 heterosexual men (no women were involved in the study because the researchers thought it would be more difficult to find erotic images that appealed to each woman – we’re much pickier, you know), it became clear that the men were more likely to take big financial risks after being shown images of sexy women than they were after being shown images of not-so-sexy items such as, say, staplers, and images of scary things like snakes. (Of course, I know a few unique characters who actually find snakes sexy, but, I digress.)

In USA Today’s Sex on the brain of financial risk takers, George Mason University professor of economics, law and neuroscience Kevin McCabe commented, “Risk-taking is a natural way of increasing your relative success, but, of course, there’s a downside to it, what we’re seeing right now in the economy.”

My take?

Make sure there’s not a hottie within a 5-mile radius the next time you head to Wall Street, Vegas, or any car lot.
