Yes, that’s right. more than $500 for the the gadget. While that’s a darn sight cheaper that a wig or surgery, it’s no small chunk of change. I’m pretty sure I could fine a better use for that kind of money.
Let’s move on…
Here’s a local news story on the HairMax Laser Comb.

Seth over at Battle Against Bald has a different video. I’ve seen some conflicting information on whether or not the “cosmetic” device has been approved for men AND women, or just men; but both videos feature women, so I’m thinking it’s safe for both.

Now, I haven’t heard whether that increase is permanent or permanent so long as you continue to use the laser comb.

Something to look out for I guess.

Here’s a new one on me. According to this story there’s a new way to re-grow hair. All you have to do is sit down… in an ELECTRIC CHAIR!

OK, I’ve got your attention. Here’s the copy from WNEP in Pennsylvania.

Combating baldness is practically an industry unto itself. The littany of products and services aimed at getting peoples’ thinning hair thickly restored is an impressive one.

One distributor in Wichita believes he has a revolutionary item to restore hair simply. All you have to do is sit down in his chair.

The technology behind this chair has been used on chemotherapy patients for years. Several clinical studies show a high success rate in retaining hair and the regrowth of hair.

It works by using an electric pulse, a non-invasive electro-static pulse. Those low-frequency energy waves are the key. But don’t expert results overnight.

Try once a week for 12 minutes for 4 to 8 months. Then you might notice changes in your hair, even though you’ll feel nothing when you sit in the chair.

Its makers say it is safe, powered by a 12 volt battery.

What will they think of next? When will the bald stand up and say, “Hey! Stop jerkin’ my chain, you hairy monkeys! First lasers, now electric chairs! WTF! We’re bald, not stupid?”

Oh, yeah. I know when this nonsense will stop. When the bald stop shelling out cold hard cash for crap like this. So, my fellow Bald Men (I use this term in a gender inclusive kind of way.) it’s time to exhibit some self respect. Tell ‘em to keep their crap.

From Yahoo! Finance comes this press release:

Gaunitz Hair Sciences has been granted exclusive rights to market the Erchonia THL Handheld Unit, a laser that has been scientifically tested to stimulate hair regrowth.

In the past, FDA-approved Erchonia lasers have been used to successfully treat acne, pain and reduce the recovery time for patients undergoing liposuction procedures. The new THL laser, based on years of laboratory study, produces no negative side effects. It is engineered to put extraordinarily powerful technology into the hands of those individuals wanting to grow a fuller, healthier head of hair. (link)

The laser is being combined with the “highly successful” 5-step Gaunitz Total Concept program. More information can be found at their website.

A comment: This is a frikkin’ laser, people! Hand-held or not, we’re one step shy of DIY eye surgery.

Now, if the lasers were attached to sharks, I’d have no problem. Though Dr. Evil, inventor of the laser-shark and fellow Bald Man, might.
