New Simon’s Cat in “Hot Spot”

Simon Tofield, creator of the online animation shorts titled “Simon’s Cat,” has created a brand new one for his fans! The short, hand-drawn animations have quite the following, and several of the videos have already won awards.
“Hot Spot” was created to celebrate the release of Simon’s book, titled, of course, “Simon’s Cat.” The 40-second video shows the lengths that his feline friend will go to to get the warm spot under the desk lamp. I wonder who rang the doorbell?

Simon’s Cat in ‘Fly Guy’

I’m a fan of the Simon’s Cat series of animations (see Good Morning, Let Me In, TV Dinner, and Fed Up), so I was happy to see a new one has been made and released this past weekend by creator Simon Tofield.
In the short video, Simon’s cat attempts to catch a fly that has gotten into the house. My favorite part is about fifteen seconds in when the cat chirps — all of ours do the same thing when they’re tracking a bug. Simon’s cat-behavior observations are spot on!

Simon’s Sister’s Dog is “Fed Up”

Remember the Simon’s Cat animations that illustrate what life is like living with a cat?
Simon has created another animation, this time featuring his “sister’s dog.” The line-drawn pup sits patiently (and at times not so patiently!) under the family dinner table waiting for scraps to fall or be directed his way. With each bite he gets bigger and bigger until he’s unable to make an escape when the time comes.
