Sew Your Own Maternity Clothing

I’m one of those people who really doesn’t like having to spend a lot of money on store-bought clothing.  I’d much rather sew something instead.
Especially if I’m only going to wear it for a few months!
I started looking for maternity clothing patterns and was surprised at how few of the “big” pattern manufacturers have.  I did find more options for patterns online, but it can be awfully expensive to buy sewing patterns from another country.
So what’s a girl to do?
Why get creative of course!

Do you have fond memories of playing with dress-me dolls or yo-yo toys when you were a child?
Simplicity Patterns are re-releasing some of their most popular vintage kids toy patterns.  So the next generation of kids can have as much fun playing with soft toys as you did!
Check out some of their charming patterns – I love the dog and horse from 2763:

are you sewing Hallowe’en costumes?

I’m not planning on making myself a Hallwe’en costume this year…
The dogs may get dressed up though

I think my Corgi would look quite fetching dressed up as a hot dog – although she might not think so!  That’s Simplicity pattern #3952.

Or if you don’t want to dress your dog up as a hot dog, how about dressing your toddler as a dog?
Simplicity pattern #3598
So what do you want to be for Hallowe’en?  It’s time to get sewing on those costumes!
