I was a bit surprised because I consider Womb Within more about kids, never really thought of Help My Hurt that way. Nice way to start the day to have someone tell you they think that you’re doing a good job!

Many people find success with this treatment, others don’t. Some find success in the treatment, but side-effects are so severe that treatment is discontinued. The patient is forced to seek other methods to control the pain or live with debilitating effects of a treatment that is supposed to help them. Sometimes with success, sometimes not. This article talks about a brand new drug to help the side-effects associated with opioid therapy. Based on a very well-known medication with a long history, this might be the answer for many."

Why am I thanking someone named Scott? Because he’s the blogger over at Health and Men and he wrote a good post on the prevention and treatment of shin splints. So – he did my work for me. There’s no point in me rewriting something that’s been done already, right?
So, if you’re interested in learning how to prevent shin splints (stress on your shin bone that can cause pain) or you have shin splints and would like to know what to do about them, I suggest you pop over to read what Scott has to say: Shin Splints Prevention/Treatment

We can go on a little trip without using any gas in the car. Let’s check out what’s happening around the Health & Wellness channel.

Over at A Dozen Steps, Mark has this post, September – National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month. Mark reviews the 12 steps in addiction recovery. In recognition of the month, several of the channel’s blog participated by writing about one of the steps. Liz, at Healthbolt, gathered them in to one post here: b5Media Salutes ‘National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month’

If you like give-aways and contests, Karen at Pink Ribbon Review has got a month for you: Coming Soon: The Pink Ribbon BCAM Giveaway. She writes: "From October 1st through 31st I’ll be giving something away every day to a Pink Ribbon Review reader! I’m serious. Every. Single. Day."

Kristina at Autism Vox has a great – and I mean great – post about mother’s instinct and how she felt helpless as a parked car kept her from knowing she could be home for her son when he got home from school: Because My Instinct Said So. I have to say, I felt a very familiar pit in my stomach when I read the post. That mothering instinct kicks in very early and never goes away.

Speaking of mothering, Angela at Breastfeeding 123 has a very informative post, Breastfeeding Education. At the end of the post are links to other bloggers and their contributions to the blog carnival.

Kelly at Grounded Fitness is inviting questions for her Ask The Dietician feature. And in keeping with health and fitness, Scott at Health and Men has a post on a surf-specific workout: The Surf Stronger Workout.

And, we’ll finish today’s trip over at Ruth’s Eating Fabulous and How Much Chocolate is Good for the Heart?
