One really excellent visual journal writing exercise that can take you in any direction you choose, is the self portrait. The idea is to create your own image. There are several ways you can do this. Quick Visual Prompt

For the life of me I can’t recall where I got this idea from. I’m sure one of my lovely readers will know, as I’d like to give credit to the creator of this visual journal prompt or idea. Divide your page up into eight, six or four squares and sketch little snapshots of whatever is in your immediate area right now.
