It’s not officially even fall yet, but for snow lovers it’s not too early to be thinking about this winter’s ski vacation. And if you’re looking for a ski vacation destination that’s modern and exotic, but still has great prices, take a look at Turkey. Yes, Turkey. I thought of it only as a warm weather destination, but it offers some great skiing areas as well.

Snow Pants Out of Sleeping Bag

It seems that the Anchorage Daily news has a story that mentions a junk creator.
According to their article titled “South skiers heat up skiathalon on biting day” (authored by Kevin Klott), not everyone was freezing at the event:
“I don’t think there’s anyone complaining,” said Homer coach Jan Spurkland. “It’s an outdoor sport.”
Easy for him to say. The former Dimond skier kept warm in his puffy blue snow pants made from an old sleeping bag he bought at Salvation Army, while most skiers wore paper-thin Lycra suits.
“Hats off” to you, Spurkland. I’d love to get the pattern…
