Did you see 20/20 about the book Why Him?/Why Her? by Helen Fisher, biological anthropologist?
My husband, Jeremy and I agree, now that we’re out of the insanity of the hormone-driven mating phase that it’s communication skills and not passion or spark that keep a marriage together.
We found it interesting that 60% of the people in the world are in arranged marriages. And the success-rate is quite high in that few arranged marriages end in divorce. (Only 5-7% divorce in India.)

Slavery Today

So my husband sent me this story, A World Enslaved,by E. Benjamin Skinner about how you can buy a person for $50 five hours away from New York City in Haiti. The article goes into great detail about how many children, girls, women, men are in slavery today. Both for sex and for domestic and agricultural labor. There are more slaves now than in the entire history of the world.

Did anyone else see Diane Sawyer’s 2 hour expose on Prostitution?
I have to say prior to seeing her piece,, I would have given a pat, academic response about how women should have a right to sell sex if it’s their choice.
Then I saw in full color what the reality for these women really is. Diane Sawyer, other reporters like Elizabeth Joseph, spent two years researching and taking a very in-depth look at the reality of prostitution in America.
