Okay, it’s Monday. It’s a new week and hopefully by now the leftovers are gone. It’s time to put the last 4 days behind you and get back on track. Don’t feel guilty. We all slip, but we also deserve to splurge once in a while.
If you can put the past behind you and live through today with renewed self-confidence and motivation, you can do anything.
Smile and say aloud, “Nothing matters more than that I feel good,” and you’ll be on your way!
Best wishes for the week ahead,
Diane

The crazy thing is, I assumed since I was out of my routine and eating fast food quite a bit, that I would have gained two or three pounds. But not so. What’s bad is I’ve been eating more–and more of the wrong things–since I’ve been back home. The busyness of trying to get life back on track has caused me to make poor choices. So it’s back to the drawing board for me, which means:

keeping my food journal every day
drinking more water
eating more veggies
cutting out the junk food

Beginning Weight: 221Today’s Weight: 194Weight Loss to Date: 27

Last week was another doozy for me. Since the kids went back to school, I’ve been lost…and eating everything in sight.
I’ve gotten off to a better start today, though. I’ve already had two bottles of water (40 oz.). I’m planning a light lunch, followed by my afternoon coffee break, and then a light dinner.
How did you do last week?

Last week was actually pretty good. I started my week with a fast on Monday. I did this for several reasons, the main one having nothing to do with losing weight. But fasting helped me put a lot of things back into perspective. I’m even thinking it might not be such a bad idea to do a fast periodically.

Tuesday I ate very light, ending the day with three leftover Points, which is very good for me. Normally I eat all my Points and then some. Wednesday we took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese, which had me a little nervous because I love pizza. I made myself proud though, when I opted for a salad with one slice of pepperoni pizza and about three bites of a slice of cheese pizza. Again…not bad!

The rest of the week went fairly well. Friday was my worst day. I am pretty sure that’s because I babysat. By the end of the (long) day, I was tired and I compensated for that by eating quite a bit of supper. On top of it, I ate supper late.

Otherwise, it was a great week. I feel like I’m back on track again. The thing is, I am smart enough to know that just because I feel great right now, that doesn’t mean I won’t slip and fall again. But the next time I do, I must remember to give myself a quick pep talk so I don’t stay down.

Last week I decided to forego my weekly weigh in. I have struggled pretty much the entire month of June. I follow the Weight Watchers plan at home, but decided to give myself a break from posting a weigh in last Monday. I needed a “free” week to get myself back on track without feeling terrible about myself or beating myself over the head.

I have to admit I’m still in the same place (mentally) I was last week and the week before that. It’s like I do really great for a few weeks. I am able to exert great will power and self-control. Then all of a sudden, I fall flat on my face and fight to swim through all sorts of negative emotions and thoughts.

One thing I have decided is that I need to get re-focused. I know that I do so much better when my mind is in a positive place. I need to spend more time meditating. One of the biggest reasons I do this is to capture and hold a mental image of myself “thin” in my mind. This truly helps in a tremendous way. It especially helps if I practice this during the times when I feel weak and want to have an emotional eating binge.

Another thing I need desperately to do again is pray more about my weight loss, health, and life in general. I’ve neglected praying for myself lately, and that needs to change. I find strength through prayer.

To recap, my goals for this week, and the coming weeks, are:

Get focused on my weight loss goal again.

Meditate.

Pray for myself.

ROUNDTABLE

How are you doing with your weight loss goals?

Are you progressing as quickly as you’d like?

What are some new goals you could set to help yourself?

Yes, it seems I’m on the upswing now. Frustrating! But it’s my own fault. I know I didn’t do good last week. I didn’t stick to my Points Target at all any day of the week. I ate out a lot last week, too.
Accountability is tough!

Yes, it seems I’m on the upswing now. Frustrating! But it’s my own fault. I know I didn’t do good last week. I didn’t stick to my Points Target at all any day of the week. I ate out a lot last week, too.

Accountability is tough!
