Presidential Pup’s First Snowfall

A lot of fuss has been made about the First Dog Bo Obama’s first snowfall this past week, and for good reason: Dogs and snow are a lot of fun to watch!
The presidential pooch, a one year old Portuguese Water Dog, romped around the grounds of the White House with reporters and photographs capturing his every move. He played fetch and took breaks to investigate the white stuff.

Fun in the First Snow

I awoke this morning to snow on the ground and more snow falling from the sky. It was only a light covering and soon was over. Yet, the snow midst the autumn leaves, created a picturesque aura to the world.
Children cried out with glee, “Snow! Snow!” as they skipped to the school bus midst the whiteness. Their anticipation of snowy fun at recess and more when they got home was delightful to see. The snow and ice storm that hit New Hampshire (where I live) last week brings to mind designs for winter quilts and fabric art. I wondered, “Are there many snow flake designs? Have quilters made winter scenic landscapes?”

Quilting on a Snowy Day

The first big snow storm of the season bombarded New Hampshire (USA) today, rather late in the season this year, but making for a day with schools closed, as well as some businesses.
It’s a good time to delve into my quilting projects.
Since I didn’t have time for anything too complex or lengthy, I got out my fabric postcards. These are ideal projects to work on when I don’t have much time. I also can take them with me when my husband and I travel.
