Even though I’m no sporting fan I couldn’t help being caught up in the excitement over the weekend about the World Cup. Australia played Brazil, in case you didn’t know, in what proved a tough game. Although Brazil did win, their victory didn’t come easy.

Most of the time this kind of news means nothing to me, but since the Socceroos worked so hard to get to the World Cup, my interest was piqued.

I didn’t stay up late, like many fellow Aussies, to watch the match, but did check out the results online this morning as soon as I could. As I’ve already mentioned, I’m not into soccer or sport in general, but writing about the game, the response from people all over the world, the hype, the disappointments, and everything else I felt about this moment in history, gave me plenty to write about in my journal today. I’d encourage you to do writing your response in your journal for whatever team you’re following.

For those who need more information read what Kevin Airs has to say, which pretty much sums up the event. At least for me it did. There’s also more here.
