In case you have not heard of that one yet, then there is no need to feel like you have been left behind. See, this is also the first time that I have heard of such. But it does look fascinating.

In case you have not heard of that one yet, then there is no need to feel like you have been left behind. See, this is also the first time that I have heard of such. But it does look fascinating.

I thought it was this tree that had the power to soak up the sun’s rays so as to convert them into usable energy. But I was wrong. Dead wrong. This solar tree is actually a contraption and was just named as such. It does not look in any way like a tree.

Anyway, it is just a concept at present. It is supposed to be this huge contraption that will measure some 16 square meters. It can fit right into your backyard so it looks really high tech. Then it soaks up the sun’s rays and gives you free energy. Then you also get to cool underneath it on really hot days, just like what you would do with an ordinary tree.

Oh that’s why it’s called a solar tree.

With the right amount of energy, this solar toy can now climb a rope. Amazing? Yeah. Not that much.

Now, this toy is said to be just right for children who are 8 years old and above. You can get one yourself for around $20 and be amazed at the little solar monkey that can climb ropes on solar power – if that’s your kind of thing.

The Automower is a lawnmower. But what makes this one different is that it is a hybrid so much so that it runs using electricity and solar power. It gets its share of power from the sun through the solar panel that has been mounted on its top.

Using this solar lawnmower is easy. All you have to do is tell it where you would like it to mow the grass. Then you just turn it on and let it do its work while you just sit back, relax, and enjoy a lemonade.

Are you now ready to get an Automower for your very own yard? Well, it’s for sale and it’s going to make you spend $3000 for a unit.

I find this solar robot to be quite interesting. I mean this one has been given the ability to do quite a number of things. It will take care of your house if you want it to. You would not need guards or dogs to guard your house against intruders of any sort. Plus, if you do not have the time to take care of your yard or your garden, then AgBot would do that for you. Really, this one is a pretty helpful robot if you ask me. Plus add to that the fact that you do not need to charge it with a plug right into the grid or maybe buy itself batteries.

I don’t know though if this one would be up for commercial sale. I would want one for my house.

These are cool – Renaissance Lanterns from SmartHome. They’ve taken your standard solar-powered LED garden lights and turned them into old-fashioned looking lanterns wherein the light actually flickers like a candle.
Made of glass and metal, a full-day of sunny goodness provides enough charge for up to 10 hours of nightly illumination. The units can be placed on a table, the ground or hung from an included pole. I suppose if you really wanted to go ‘old-school‘, you could even hang them on your horse-drawn carriage.
They’re $30 a piece and available from SmartHome – product page here.
