There are tons and tons of gadgets in the market right now and most of us are so addicted to gadgets that we do try to get the very best or the newest. However, did we all realize that the more we purchase these gadgets, the more our carbon footprint is? Yeah, well, let’s just say that each time you need to give juice to your gadget, you plug it right up the grid.
But if you had solar powered rechargeable batteries, then you are now lessening a good amount of your carbon footprint. And these solar rechargeable batteries is the brainchild of Knut Karlsen. He names his created the SunCat. And what he did was create solar rechargeable batteries by sticking in strips of a solar cell right around nickel metal hydride batteries.
Of course that Karlsen has done is still a prototype and he is still working out how to create better ones. He even admits that the first one that he did is not going to work that well. He is currently spending time on a second version.

As a kid, I sure have been fascinated with robots. Well, even kids of today do love robots. They are luckier now that there are lessons on how to build their very own. And then there is also this solar kit which will allow kids to learn more on building about robots but also learn more about solar power. This solar kit is from OWIKit.
OWIKit calls it a building kit that has been designed so much so that it will be educational. The company did further disclose that this solar kit is going to help children create their own small motor that will run with the use of solar power. I could not even imagine how that will function but I’m pretty sure this solar kit is going to do just that.
With that, kids who will be playing with the solar kit can create various things with the solar motor that they will be creating. Six models are included in the kit for the kids to construct and that includes a car, an airboat, a puppy, two planes, and a windmill.

The Story Of The Solar Fan

The story of the solar fan is a simple story but it is not just about itself. It is also the story of Bill Keith. Bill Keith is the man behind the solar fan. He is a father who has green ideas on his mind which he put to work so much so that he now has his own company which brings him revenue and helps the environment.
On this, he says, “I went from 25 years of sitting on the roof to now selling my product to roofers all over the world; it’s exciting.”
Keith previously worked as a roofer. And when he was putting in an electric fan in someone’s hot attic, that was when he got the idea. So he created the solar fan. You can install it in your roof. It takes out any hot air in the room and also cools the room. All that, thanks to the sun.

Sunglasses are known to help people be protected from the rays of the sun. After all, walking around when the sun is up can be pretty irritating. If you have got sunglasses though, you get to walk around looking all cool and not that be irritated by the light from the sun.
Now, there are sunglasses which are not only going to help you face the light of the sun. These new solar sunglasses are also going to absorb the rays of the sun and then help your gadgets get more juice in case they’re running low already. This is the Self-Energy Converting Sunglasses and it’s a creation of Hyun-Joong Kim and of Kwang-Seok Jeong.
I think these sunglasses are pretty nice. See, you get to wear them as you would wear an ordinary pair of sunglasses. Then, there is this wire that you can plug your gadget into to get juiced up. So it’s pretty nice and simple. But it does work well.

The Philippines is a pretty sunny country - the sun shines for the most part of the year. And it would be really good to have solar chargers making their way to this country. Not only would such help the environment but it would also help the people of the country save much on energy bills.
One of the newest solar chargers that have made its way to this Asian country is the GreenMobile Solar Chargers and this one has been created by Tritec Integrated Philippines Inc. It comes with lithium batteries and has been given solar cells. Any gadget that needs charging could be easily given juice by just connecting it to the charger via a USB cable.
Tristan San Buenaventura is the head of Tritec and on this, he shared, “Our solar chargers dramatically reduce energy cost of gadget users because they don’t have to spend any or just need to spend less because it does not directly consume current.”

A Look At Another Solar Charger
November 29, 2008 by Noel
There is already quite a number of solar chargers available in the market right now. With the number of such chargers available, you might have a hard time choosing one for yourself. That is why it is good to take a look at specs and see which one is going to work well for you and for what you need it for.
This new one that I had found recently is the iPower SX which has been created by Battech. According to the specs that come with this solar charger, it has a far more sophisticated battery in the sense that the standard solar charger’s battery is at 1800 mAh. iPower SX’s is a 2200 mAh. So this means that you can give more juice to your portable gadgets.
Now most solar chargers would not tell you just how much juice is left in the battery. However, the iPower SX tells you how much you get left. That way, you would be warned if you need to give it more power. Neat.

Use The Sun To Heat Up A Room
November 27, 2008 by Noel

Yes, I am talking about a solar air heater, a gadget that has been designed to use the power of the sun to help heat a room. And you should probably be needing one right now that the cold season has just declared its presence.
There are a lot of solar air heaters available in the market. However, it would be even better if you had built your own solar air heater like how this site has offered suggestions on how you can create your own one.
For most solar air heaters, what happens is that the sun’s power is used to heat the air that goes through some sort of pipe. That heated air is then sent to the room while a new batch of ‘unheated’ air goes into that pipe for some heating.
It is that simple and so that means creating your very own solar air heater would be also easy. That means less expenses and a happy earth.
