Special time with my daughter

My working from home has created a really nice time alone with my daughter.
I finish work between 2:30 and 3pm every day. Our son does not get home from preschool until about 3:45pm and my wife gets home a few minutes later.
Since I have no commute right now, that gives me about an hour alone with my daughter every day. We have been playing with Play-Doh, read stories, dance to Christmas tunes, talking to all of her babies, doing puzzles, and playing games.

My son and I are home alone without a car today. We decided to walk to Meijer and pick up some snacks/food for the day.
As we wandered through the store, Pookie stopped in front of a Cars DVD display. It was a big cardboard cube with pictures on each side. All of the videos were either sold or moved.
He loves Cars so he just stared at the pictures for a few minutes. An employee came over and my son fought his way between the employee and the display. The employee thought it was pretty cute …read more

Reading to your kid

Most people understand how important it is to read to kids when they are little. Storytime also provides a way for you to interact with your children while cuddling on a bed or floor with the kids.  In just a few minutes, you can help improve your kid’s ability to read, increase their interest in reading, cuddle on a bed or floor, and spend a few quality minutes with your kids.
Our kids now demand that we read several stories a day to them and, no matter what, we read two at bed time. Right now our son is …read more
