I received a couple of journals for Christmas, which I shared with you in a photo in a previous entry. Well, today I began writing in the purple Smiggle one. It’s so lovely. But I wasn’t able to give it special time for my usual starting ritual. I’ll have to put that off until I can have a moment alone. I had to fit in an entry with the little guy wiggling all over the seat next to me and going on about his tummy. Starting Rituals

I’ve written about beginning a new journal before, but as I started another one this week, I thought I’d mention this again. For me I enjoy a simple process of pasting a small calendar to the front page, numbering my journal and stating my goals for the duration of that journal. I like to use stamps, my favourite colour ink, stickers, collage, and whatever else takes my fancy at the moment. Dave Fox has an excellent journal writing resource as one of his many websites. Writing the Inner Journey; Self-Discovery Through Travel Writing is an online course. Stand out articles include The Inner Journey, The Outer Journey and Speed Journaling. I recommend you read any of his articles for great tips on keeping a journal, even if you’ve never travelled anywhere before.
