New Poll – Is the Economy Cramping Your Style?

I’ve read reports that the economy has brought about a surge in the dating game and I’ve read that it has had the opposite effect, as well. Which theory is correct?

In an attempt to get to the bottom of this economy/dating mystery, I’ve come up with a poll. What do you readers think? What have you experienced personally? Does the economy effect your dating habits or not? I’ll keep this poll up for a little while and I’ll share the results with you soon.

The poll feature is fun, but I haven’t taken full advantage of it. I’ve been here since last Summer and I’ve put only one poll up. It was “Do you make New Years resolutions?” Answer: No.

I’ve been writing for Dating Dames for quite a bit now but I never really thought of asking this question. Silly, huh? But, now, I’m making it a point to open up this discussion.

Just how much does a typical date cost nowadays?

I’m not limiting to the dinner and movies kinda date. It can be any sort that YOU consider typical, just simply let me know how much it usually costs you.

Do guys really want an old-fashioned wife?

I’m in the process of conducting a bit of a ‘non-scientific study’ for someone who recently proposed the question on whether or not men genuinely want to end up marrying an old fashioned kind of girl.

We’ve all heard it from our mother’s and grandmothers – but then again, we all know that ‘times change‘ – right?

I took my little investigation over to a forum where a diverse crowd of singles tend to hangout. After presenting the same question there, I was able to draw my own conclusion from the small percentage of men and women who actually responded.

What I’m seeing is that women are the ones that want to be old fashioned – the stay-at-home-mom and housewife – while men seem to want their wife to have some sort of marketable skill and to help out with the family finances.

Is that a safe assumption?

What are your thoughts?
