Is your dog cool? I’m not talking about knowing tricks or having a swank dog collar. The My Dog is Cool Campaign by the United Animal Nations (UAN) aims to prevent dogs and other pets from dying in hot cars this summer.
Yes, animals still die cruel deaths inside cars each year. Their owners don’t do it on purpose either.
“People mean well by taking their dogs or other animals along with them while they work, visit, shop or run errands, but warm weather can turn a car into a death trap,” warns Nicole Forsyth, UAN President and CEO.

Work to Prevent Pet Theft

There are people in the world who would like to steal your cat or dog. That’s something you may not consider very often. Any breed is vulnerable — even your ordinary house cat.
Next Saturday, February 14 is Pet Theft Awareness Day.
Last Chance for Animals (LCA) has been working for years to help spread the word about pet theft, and their site StolenPets.com is a good place to learn more about prevention and recovery.
According to LCA, nearly two million pets are stolen each year.
